The Opportunity: As a Mental Health Provider (counselor or psychologist) at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), you play a vital role in supporting student mental health and well-being. You provide culturally responsive, evidence-informed clinical services to a diverse student population with a wide range of presenting concerns, while contributing to a collaborative, student-centered counseling center within Cougar Health Services (CHS). CHS provides comprehensive, integrated healthcare to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on the WSU Pullman campus. In this role, you deliver brief individual counseling, group therapy and workshops, initial consultations, and crisis assessment and intervention within a short-term model of care. You conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. You contribute to CAPS’ American Psychological Association ‑ accredited training program by providing clinical supervision, training, and mentorship to practicum students, doctoral interns, and other trainees. You also engage in outreach, prevention programming, and consultation with faculty, staff, and students, supporting an inclusive campus climate and promoting student success and retention. Working within an integrated and multidisciplinary care model, you collaborate with other CAPS clinicians, CHS medical providers, and campus partners to deliver coordinated mental health services. Success in this role requires strong generalist clinical skills, experience working with high ‑ risk and diverse student populations, and the ability to balance direct clinical service, training responsibilities, and outreach in a dynamic university environment.
