About The Position

Assists with the implementation of program activities and services that enhance student leadership, participation, success and retention. Provides clerical support to keep office functioning smoothly and efficiently. Provides support by assisting with all student services initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year experience in office environment is required.
  • Experience using information management systems required.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule (some evening and weekend hours may be required).
  • Demonstrate computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • 6 months experience or more in a community college student services setting preferred.
  • Experience participating, planning or coordinating outreach activities in a higher education or community setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist supervisor with planning, directing and coordinating system-wide program activities and services which promote student participation.
  • Participate in various recruitment functions for high schools, colleges, community fairs, etc.
  • Apply state waivers in HCC Student Finance system (PeopleSoft) system.
  • Assist with the coordination of special projects and assignments, and prepare and present status reports on system-wide activities and services (i.e. weekly, monthly, and annually) to the Director, VC and AVC of Student Services.
  • Perform general office duties, including but not limited to filing, typing, faxing, and answering phones.
