The City of Peoria Parks and Recreation Department is seeking interested individuals to provide oversight of aquatic facilities. Work locations include three community pools (Centennial Pool, Peoria Pool and Sunrise Pool) and the Peoria Sports Complex (home to the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6-12 months of moderate previous experience in the same or similar maintenance position.
  • Valid AZ driver’s license upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable communicating with patrons, volunteers, vendors, concessionaires, and public safety and team personnel as required.
  • Comfortable exercising the necessary supervision of personnel to meet the needs of an activity, event or program with minimal direction.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both individually and with a team with an understanding of common techniques, methods, practices, procedures, use of forms, routines, etc., of an intermediate nature.
  • Safety conscious, punctual team player with a high work ethic, with the flexibility to act cross-functionally when the Department's workload demands.
  • Interested in a flexible part-time schedule with an estimated 18-30 hours per week.
  • Open to schedules that vary depending on assignment and could include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Performing pool chemical readings and documenting results.
  • Vacuuming pools of dirt and debris.
  • Cleaning gutters and pool decks.
  • Backwashing filtration systems.
  • Maintaining accurate operational logs.
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance of pool equipment and related facilities.
