About The Position

As a Program Manager, you join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of the Alzheimer’s Association Portfolio of Community Program Offerings. The Portfolio brings awareness, education and support to all communities in the United States and activates a grassroots network of individuals and community leaders to work toward a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. The purpose of this role is to lead the implementation of strategies identified in the Alzheimer’s Association sub award to the Marion County Public Health Department BOLD action plan and to represent the Alzheimer’s Association by collaborating with local partners to advance Marion County’s dementia infrastructure through a public health approach to brain health and health equity. The Manager is responsible for developing a strong and uniform dementia infrastructure, utilizing community collaborations, through a capacity building/implementation application to ensure successful completion and timely reporting related to the sub award and implementation of priority activities identified under the Healthy Brain Initiative (HBI) Road Map. Utilizing your proven leadership, networking and relationship building skills to cultivate key community connections, you will drive success and expand the reach of our community offerings. This will happen by strategically identifying and engaging community partners and activating and empowering volunteers, especially in new, underrepresented and rural communities. The position not only manages and supports their team but also actively contributes to day-to-day work and deliverables. As a successful community mobilizer who will manage multiple program delivery volunteers annually, you will generate excitement and enthusiasm in the community for the cause, coach and inspire your volunteers to implement proven strategies and best practices that result in increased community presence and serving more people with awareness, education and support year over year. This is a grant funded position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public health or a related field or equivalent experience
• Three years of experience in program management/delivery and evaluation
• Awareness/understanding of dementia as a public health issue and the role of early intervention in delaying cognitive decline
• Familiarity with the diverse communities that make up Marion County.
• Proven success in building and maintaining collaborative relationships and meeting strategic goals through partnership initiatives.
• Able to identify and cultivate relationships with community partners, organizations, volunteers and diverse populations to create a sense of urgency related to dementia awareness as a major health issue and motivate all to action.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with others, hold others accountable and reach mutually agreeable outcomes.
• Experience with a public health approach focused on health promotion and early detection.
• Experience building rapport/trust, assessing needs and articulating a value proposition.
• Ability to represent the Association effectively to community partners, community leaders and healthcare partners.
• Excellent written and presentation skills, comfortable speaking in public
• Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication and follow-through
• General knowledge of public and community health, community-based organizations and systems
• Familiarity working on grant funded projects
• Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory by car. Travel in this case, is considered time spent away from the office, in the community, to fulfill the job goals. While most such travel is same day, occasional overnight travel or air travel may be required
• Must have valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance
• Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as needed
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials
• Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, Google Suite and social media

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the Alzheimer’s Association subaward for the Marion County BOLD Strategies
• Serve as primary BOLD liaison between the Alzheimer’s Association and the Marion County Public Health Department.
• Manage the implementation of public health strategies to create, maintain or enhance a jurisdiction ADRD coalition identified by the Marion County Public Health Department and in partnership with the Assn and other coalition partners.
• Educate coalition members/partners on ADRD topics.
• Educate the general public (including populations of high burden) about ADRD topics, including on primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
• Educate providers and other professionals about ADRD topics, which include: ADRD topics – including on primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
• Increase the availability and use of data to improve knowledge, assess, plan, and implement priorities.
• Improve community-clinical linkages among health care systems and existing services, public health agencies, and community-based organizations.
• Leverage and expand community and volunteer partnerships to meet the aims and outcomes of the BOLD workplan and evaluation
• Complete all necessary reporting and evaluation requirements as defined in the subaward
