Purchasing Agent - Outside Services
About The Position
Enjet Aero machines and fabricates complex jet engine parts, components and assemblies for leading OEMs in the commercial, defense and general aviation sectors. Position Description: The Outside Services Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing external suppliers that provide specialized manufacturing, processing, and technical services for aerospace components. This role ensures that all outsourced work meets stringent aerospace quality, regulatory, and delivery requirements while supporting production schedules and cost targets. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands aerospace supply chains, and can build strong, strategic supplier relationships.
Requirements
- Experience in purchasing, supply chain or procurement-preferably in aerospace manufacturing
- Strong understanding of outside processes such as heat treat, coatings and machining
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems-Epicor is a plus
- Strong negotiation, communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders for outside services based on production needs, engineering requirements and customer specifications.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to support cost reduction and efficiency goals
- Ensure all purchase orders include correct technical documentation, drawings and specifications
- Coordinate the movement of parts to and from suppliers to maintain production flow with our onsite driver
- Track order status, expedite critical jobs and resolve delays or bottlenecks
- Collaborate with production, planning, engineering and quality teams to ensure alignment of priorities
- Ensure suppliers comply with aerospace standards and customer specific requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, certifications and customer traceability
- Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP/MRP systems (Epicor)
- Any other tasks assigned by management
