About The Position

The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for accurately fulfilling requests for purchases and administering the detailed purchasing process from order placement to order received in accordance with company best practices. This position communicates directly with all level of employees within the company and our vendors/suppliers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of purchasing principles and practices preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills; verbal and written communication skills; math skills; analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in the food/manufacturing industry is helpful
  • Knowledge of SAP software

Responsibilities

  • Supports the procurement process by creating and issuing purchase orders, scheduling deliveries, maintaining knowledge of inventory levels, ensuring on time package arrival, tracking backorders, and verifying the billed amount with goods received.
  • Ensures that our vendors/suppliers are always treated in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Administers the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) requisition system.
  • Serves as back up support for the Purchasing Agent.
