About The Position

This primary area of responsibility for this position is to perform all activities related to QC testing in a safe manner. Perform all in process & final testing for various QC labs as assigned. Perform housekeeping & safety functions for the assigned process area. This position will act as a floater and may be assigned to any of the QC labs as needed. This is a Union, non-exempt position. The starting pay rate for this role is $36.97.

Requirements

  • Two year college degree in scientific or engineering field or 3-5 years of documented technical laboratory experience.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and multiple tasks as required, in different laboratories.
  • Operate & maintain a variety of test equipment of varying degrees of complexity, including but not limited to X-ray, BETC, Tensometers, FTIR, viscometer, hydraulic press.
  • Perform routine equipment troubleshooting.
  • Ability to effectively utilize personal, mainframe, & material movement computers & devices & site licensed programs.
  • Change shifts as required to provide coverage.
  • Written and verbal skills to communicate and applicable math skills.
  • Familiarity with laboratory experimentation; ability to design experiments, collect, organize, and interpret experimental data.
  • Superior organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
  • Careful and concise documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, self-motivated, independent worker.
  • Knowledge and applications of safety, environmental, and quality guidelines and procedures.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible & willing to work in various work locations as assigned, self-motivated and good team player.
  • Valid drivers license required to drive a plant transport vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Four year college degree in scientific or engineering field or 3-5 years of documented technical laboratory experience.
  • Experience in use of computers desired.
  • Previous experience in laboratory performing chemical and/or physical testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean dishes and labware.
  • Responsible for retains, including transfers to storage areas.
  • Executes all weekly beds & fines testing.
  • Responsible for routine, repetitive tasks, such as restocks supplies, change waste drums, etc.
  • Perform basic in process & final testing.
  • Report the results & disposition material in SAP monitors SAP card updates.
  • Perform routine equipment troubleshooting, calibrations and control charting.
  • Perform weekly shower, eye wash & fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Collect water samples for daily waste water treatment testing.
  • Perform general housekeeping.
  • Maintain accuracy & timeliness of test data.
