About The Position

Quality Assurance Coordinator Trainee / District Six / Director of Operations / District Construction. This position will assist with coordinating and conducting signalization, lighting, and asphalt inspections, ensuring compliance with standards and contract requirements. Responsibilities include preparing inspection reports, maintaining records, supporting quality assurance reviews, and monitoring warranties. The role also involves assist with coordinating meetings, reviewing punch lists, verifying documentation, and facilitating final transfer of installations to maintaining agencies. Requirements

  • Knowledge of and skilled at mathematics and calculation practices using mathematics to solve problems.

  • This position requires MOT Intermediate Certification and Asphalt Paving Level I and II through the Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) and Advanced Maintenance of Traffic. Must obtain within one (1) year.
  • During a declared emergency event, the incumbent will be required to assist the District as needed.
  • While on-duty status, the position’s incumbent may be required to drive a State owned or leased vehicle to perform the duties of this position. A valid class “E” driver’s license is required.
  • This position may be required to work extraordinary hours, including nights and/or weekends.
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent; 2 years of experience in a related field can substitute for the high school diploma or equivalency.
  • This position requires a valid Class (E) driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department’s Driver’s Record Requirements Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with coordinating and conducting 60%, 90% and 100% Lighting and Signal inspections with field personnel, to ensure conformance with standards and contract documents.
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling final inspection of signal and lighting installation with maintenance Agencies as necessary.
  • Assists with the performance of Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) of signalization, lighting, and electrical service point installations.
  • Assists with preparing and recording field inspection reports for all signal, lighting and service Point inspections.
  • Maintains files in accordance with Department requirements.
  • Prepares other reports, as necessary.
  • Assists project personnel in resolution of traffic signalization and lighting construction issues and implements corrective actions.
  • Assist with monitoring and timely informing project personnel of trouble reports and other issues from Miami Dade County and maintaining agencies.
  • Updates the project personnel with latest compliance, standards and requirements.
  • Assists with coordination of asphalt roadway activities and inspections related to Quality Assurance Reviews (QCRs).
  • Assist with monitoring performing Quality Control (QC) and Verification (VT) review of Roadway Asphalt Pavement reports.
  • Assists with verifying accuracy of roadway reports by using the District 6 Electronic web based program.
  • Observes a Rolling Straightedge Test of the Final layer conducted by QC technician.
  • Assists with verification, assembly, and submittal of final asphalt roadway reports, delivery tickets, plant testing and other documentation by project personnel.
  • Assists with coordination of inspections during the warranty period per contract schedule.
  • Assists with monitoring progress of all project warranties and warranty inspections.
  • Assists with identification of deficiencies and with coordination of remedial work with the responsible party.
  • Coordinates warranty dispute meetings with responsible party, District lab, FDOT Maintenance and other maintaining agencies.
  • Assists with monitoring data and records in the Contract Information Management System (CIMS) database.
  • Coordinates other deficient work which may arise after construction acceptance.
  • Assists with reviews of signalization and lighting punch lists.
  • Assists with reviews of signalization and lighting final inspection packages prior to submitting them to Maintaining Agencies.
  • Assists the project personnel with final transfer of signalization, street lighting and other electrical installations to Miami Dade County Traffic Signal & Signs Division, FDOT, and/or other Maintaining Agencies.
  • Assist with verification of implementation of the comments submitted by the FDOT Construction Department Plan Reviewer, Miami Dade County Work Department comments, and/or other Maintaining Agencies.
  • Assists with gathering information from the field inspection and works with the district design and construction personnel implementing any required changes to avoid future issues that may adversely impact biddability, constructability, maintenance, and final acceptance.
  • Assists with preparing for and conducting pre-paving, pre-signalization, and pre-lighting meetings.
