About The Position

We are seeking a QA Manager – Cloud Services to lead the U.S. Cloud QA team and manage validation activities for TP-Link cloud platforms supporting mobile apps and connected devices. The role focuses on release readiness, test coverage, and coordination of cloud service validation across multiple engineering teams. This position is a quality management and execution role, responsible for planning, monitoring, and improving cloud testing processes rather than owning system architecture or production operations. The QA Manager will work closely with backend, mobile, firmware, and overseas QA teams to ensure features are properly validated, defects are identified early, and releases meet defined quality standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in QA cloud service testing or backend system development.
  • 3+ years of team leadership or QA management experience.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services and cloud-native infrastructure
  • Strong hands-on understanding of:
  • 1 Microservices architecture
  • 2 Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, container orchestration
  • 3 CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment strategies
  • 4 MySQL, MongoDB, Kafka, or similar middleware
  • Experience with performance, scalability, and stress testing for high-concurrency cloud systems.
  • Proven ability to review and evaluate cloud testing quality without relying solely on execution.
  • Strong problem-analysis mindset, with emphasis on internal QA system improvement.
  • Strong leadership presence and the ability to earn technical respect from engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skill with Mandarin and English
  • Experience in IoT cloud platforms, smart home ecosystems, or networking-related cloud services.
  • Experience building or scaling a cloud QA team from an early stage.
  • Experience introducing automation frameworks or CI/CD quality gates.
  • Knowledge of networking and security fundamentals.
  • Awareness of AI-assisted cloud testing methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Cloud QA team, including task planning, workload distribution, and progress tracking.
  • Plan and oversee validation activities for cloud services, APIs, and device-cloud interactions.
  • Coordinate test efforts across U.S. and overseas QA teams to ensure consistent coverage and execution.
  • Review test plans and ensure adequate functional, regression, and integration coverage before release.
  • Track defects, prioritize testing risks, and communicate release readiness to stakeholders
  • Work with development and product teams to clarify requirements and improve testability.
  • Monitor testing schedules and help resolve blockers impacting testing progress.
  • Improve testing processes, documentation, and communication workflows.
  • Support automation initiatives and encourage adoption of automation where practical.
  • Provide status reporting and quality summaries to engineering and management teams.
