About The Position

The Quality Audit and Program Manager role exists to provide support to Stratas’ Quality Department to review, create and ensure that Quality programs are standardized across all facilities. This is a mid-level Corporate Quality Assurance position responsible for ensuring plant and co-man compliance to Stratas standards and policies.

Requirements

  • BS and equivalent Industry Experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Quality Assurance experience in an ingredient or consumer packaged goods company.
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Solid quality assurance and / or audit expertise, strong command of FSMA, FSP and PCQI methodologies.
  • Decisive, exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Displays critical thinking skills, proactive in decision making and makes data-based decisions.
  • Leverages a proactive & creative approach to issues/roadblocks. Develops realistic action plans with clearly identified risks and contingencies.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands.
  • Requires strong organizational skills, dependability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in shortening, margarine, mayonnaise, sauces, dressings and condiments preferred.
  • Knowledge of experimental design.
  • Understanding of fats and oils chemistry and processing a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert on Stratas Quality program procedures and expectations.
  • Manage the audit programs both externally and internally and verify and ensure Stratas policies are fully and followed implemented.
  • Be a resource to the plants for audit preparations and policy implementation.
  • Review current policies and procedures for consistency
  • Ensure policies are current and meet regulatory and third-party standards
  • Implement new programs as needed
  • Review and head the training programs as they relate to food safety and quality
  • Responsible for the implementation of internal and external audit programs
  • Report results and areas of focus to the Director – Quality Assurance and Supplier Compliance
  • Input and guide Quality Auditors in the plants
  • Audit High Risk Ingredient Suppliers to Ensure Compliance to Written Standards
  • Develop a GFSI compliant ingredient audit tool based on BRC and SQF or another robust third-party source
  • Conduct risk assessments against defined criteria for food safety, food fraud, and regulatory compliance and perform facility audits, when applicable.
  • Issue findings to the suppliers to drive corrective actions if required
  • Determine compliance ready state based on audit findings
  • Communicate approvals, conditional approvals and disqualification status to Supply Chain procurement functions in a timely fashion
  • Required to provide support during 3rd party inspections in explaining Stratas’ Approved Supplier Program.
  • Audit co-manufactures
  • Review COAs and samples on a set frequency
  • Ensure co-mans are meeting Stratas expectation
  • Collaborate closely with onsite teams and participate in onsite meetings to drive departmental objectives.
