Quality Control Intern- Flavors Department: Quality/Regulatory, Flavors Location: Carol Stream, IL Type: 12 Week Internship Summary: This internship will introduce the intern to Quality Control processes in a manufacturing and lab environment. The intern will learn food safety programs and how they are implemented. The intern will learn to evaluate and test incoming raw materials and finished products for the Flavors division. This internship will also provide the opportunity to learn about the sensory evaluation of flavors and the raw materials used in them.

Requirements

  • Expected graduation of December 2026 or May 2027 from a Scientific Discipline (Chemistry, Food Science, etc.)
  • Interested in a career in Food Science/ Manufacturing or Quality Control
  • Basic laboratory experience
  • Good organizational skills and reading/writing/documentation
  • Basic Excel experience and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with various flavor types, aroma chemicals, and essential oils

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with day-to-day tasks in the lab, including operation of equipment such as a combined specific gravity/refractive index meter, water activity meter, flashpoint meter, and gas chromatograph.
  • Participating in a lab sensory training program.
  • Building a Gas Chromatograph (GC) library.
