About The Position

Quality Control Specialist - Erlanger, KY Job Summary: This position will provide support for the Erlanger Operations and Inventory groups by completing laboratory analysis. The occupant of this role will complete routine testing, ensure data integrity, and promote a safe laboratory environment. The occupant of this role will report to the local QC manager and support senior laboratory colleagues. Primary Job Functions: Conduct investigations into any OOS/deviations Track and record data in LIMS and analyze trends to avoid future issues Implement proficiency testing Ensures testing requirements align to vendor and customer needs Conducts method development and method validations when needed Conducts lab walkthroughs to assess any gaps Ensures all technicians training is completed and properly logged Investigates Lab errors Mentors QC Technicians for growth and development Leads interviews for new hires Maintains Calibration logs for instruments and maintain instrument suitability Troubleshoots instrumentation issues Review data for approval Coordinate with QA, Customer Quality, site Operations and external Labs Lab KPI tracking Purchase Lab consumables such as solvents and reagents Supervision/Oversight of Lab Technicians Assigns work to technicians if new priorities arise

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate’s degree in food science, biology, or related laboratory-based field.
  • +5 year of experience
  • Experience with organoleptic testing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality requirements.
  • Willingness to innovate and adapt best practices.
  • Ability to encourage trust between Operations, Development, Supply Chain and Quality departments.
