About The Position

Supports the overall Quality Management System and Global Quality Management System (GQMS). Supervises all technical aspects of Quality Assurance Engineering functions. Assists in the development of quality standards and protocols for quality assurance testing models. Assists in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirement, represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability. Performs personnel functions such as; interviewing, hiring, training, coaching and development, timekeeping, performance evaluations, compensation recommendations, and disciplinary/corrective action. Leads and supports the Quality Assurance Engineering team to support all part qualification programs, supporting Engineering by creating Quality test plans as needed. Leads and supports the Quality Engineering team in regard to supporting NADCAP requirements and audits. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and established proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Provides supplier qualifications, material issue resolution, driving supplier corrective actions, component/BOM validation, supplier audits, and maintain the approved supplier’s list. Oversees the Internal auditing program to AS9100, documenting procedures necessary to meet ISO practices. Drive corrective and preventive action program, from initiation to resolution of items. Oversee peer review of records. Collect and analyze data to track improvement. Works with Supply Chain management to drive supplier process and materials compliance within Company Policies and Procedures.. Works with Product and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that all product documentation and products reflect the appropriate marking, labeling, and packaging to meet Company requirements. Coordinates Customer Process Control and Part Specification Requirements to ensure product performances are met. Ensuring within reason assignments, tasks assigned, quality concerns affecting the “quality of the product” and established agreed upon objectives are completed on time or in those cases they cannot, notifying supervision. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product and minimize costs. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality. Continually exemplifies and is an advocate of LISI Aerospace’s Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles as stated in LISI Aerospace’s Team Member Handbook. Champions and participates in the LEAP (LISI Excellence Achievement Program) in support of the Company’s commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of; HSE, Quality, and Production. Ensure all people placed under their assigned area of responsibility, or all persons who may be affected by equipment or processes placed under their responsibility are complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local and State government, and LISI Aerospace policies, procedures and plans. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and 2 years of related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to lead effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing methods, Quality Management Systems, documentation.
  • Required knowledge of ISO 9001 and/AS 9100 standards, previous auditing experience desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certified through American Society of Quality (ASQ) as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
