This opportunity is Onsite. #LI-Onsite The Role Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Quality Lead to support our team in Houston, TX. In this role, the Project Quality Lead will report to the Manager of Project Quality, and ensure that Wood’s quality policies, standards and practices are effectively implemented. This position is responsible for promoting and applying quality principles, systems, and performance measures across the assigned program or project. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, with a strong background in the quality delivery of manufactured equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in managing and mitigating business-related risks within a global organization, while collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders across a variety of projects. Requirements

  • University bachelor’s degree is required, along with a minimum of 10 years quality experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards, including ISO 9001, API Q1, and applicable API specifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in equipment manufacturing for the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, SharePoint and VISIO.
  • Knowledge of internal and external audit processes, including third party certification audit practices.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Apply expert knowledge and skills to foster and promote a positive Quality culture across the project team and organization.
  • Lead and oversee QA/QC activities throughout project execution to ensure compliance with project quality requirements, Wood standards, and cost and schedule targets.
  • Develop, maintain, and update as required, Project Quality Plan (PQP) for project teams or programs.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise quality-related templates, process flowcharts, work instructions, and other project documentation as needed.
  • Review and approve key project deliverables, including Scope of Work, POQR/SDRL, and Criticality Ratings.
  • Review and comment on supplier documentation such as Welding Procedures, NDE Procedures, Coating Procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), data books, and related materials.
  • Oversee the fabrication, testing, inspection, and monitoring of subsea equipment to ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues and Nonconformance Reports (NCRs); review and follow up on Corrective Action Requests (CARs) to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct project audits at various stages of execution and prepare clear, comprehensive audit reports.
  • Facilitate project Lessons Learned activities—ensuring past lessons are reviewed at project start-up and new learnings are captured and documented at close-out.
  • Compile and analyze project quality KPIs to drive continuous improvement across all projects.
  • Support business development efforts, including tender preparation and proposal development.
