Job Summary: The Quality Technician II at Jabil, Inc. performs moderately complex quality assurance activities to ensure products meet established standards and specifications, supporting production processes and problem-solving efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field or related discipline preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies (e.g., SPC, 8D, FMEA).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various inspection and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM basics a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections, tests, and measurements on products, components, and materials to verify conformance to specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Utilize various measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records of quality data.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective action processes.
  • Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing improvements to quality processes and procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits as required, providing documentation and assistance to auditors.
  • Train and mentor entry-level Quality Technicians on established procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality concerns and improve product quality.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
