R&D Application Development Engineer

About The Position

Primary Duties: Support software development efforts primarily of the Thin Films Technology and Automotive R&D groups to improve capabilities for process control and materials and process characterization via the following duties/responsibilities: Update capabilities to interact with remote databases. Update key libraries and implementations for modern deployment and integration. Develop software testing and deployment capabilities for new and current applications / libraries. Develop and support software installation. Investigate opportunities for joining of current processes in regional/international R&D and production. Debug and develop test modules for application and library deployment. Other duties assigned by manager EHS and Quality Systems Adhere to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles. Adhere to EH&S policies at Northwood and other locations. Competencies: Customer Focused Passion for Excellence Safety and Quality Focused

Requirements

Computer Science BS or equivalent experience
0-2 years demonstrate experience in the field
Demonstrated history with C++ and C# desktop applications and Object-Oriented Programming
Capable of working in a shared repository of source code
Be familiar with production or use of testing frameworks or tools
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (10 - 15%)
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and an IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Proficient in the English language (verbal and written)
