POSITION SUMMARY The mission of this role is to ensure operational excellence in pharmaceutical R&D and production environments through meticulous maintenance of cGMP-compliant laboratory facilities and seamless support of critical development activities. This position maintains compliant cleanroom environments, manages essential supplies, and hands-on technical support for process development studies that drive process development forward. The role's organized approach to inventory management prevents costly downtime while ensuring researchers have immediate access to required materials. Through rigorous adherence to cleaning protocols and quality standards, this position safeguards product integrity and regulatory compliance. The R&D Technician 1 ensures ProMed’s brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, or 0-2 years laboratory experience
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day) while working in laboratory and cleanroom environments, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently throughout the shift to access equipment, supplies, and work surfaces at various heights, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 25 pounds regularly throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in controlled cleanroom environments while wearing required personal protective equipment for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Capability to perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks of laboratory equipment and work surfaces throughout the shift, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to focus visually on detailed laboratory work, measurements, and data collection for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Maintain laboratory environment suitable for cGMP pharmaceutical process development and production by completing cleaning of cleanrooms, support areas, and process equipment.
  • Enable efficient conduct of development and production activities by maintaining supply inventory.
  • Support execution of process development studies by performing hands on experimentation including process data collection and product measurement.
  • Perform laboratory cleaning per established cleaning procedure and schedule.
  • Complete process equipment cleaning per equipment cleaning procedures.
  • Execute laboratory and storage area walk-through inspections and ensure areas are maintained in a tidy state.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams when inventory levels approach predetermined reorder points.
  • Monitor storage areas and maintain supply stock in a neatly organized fashion.
  • Replenish inventory and rotate (e.g., first-in-first-out) to minimize expiration losses.
  • Perform measurements and observations of product samples using laboratory instruments (microscopes, optical measurement systems, calipers, etc.).
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of experimental observations in the electronic laboratory notebook or production record.
  • Observe processes and record process parameters (e.g., flow rates, pressures, and temperatures) as directed by the study protocol.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
