About The Position

The Oasis program partner's with Harrington Hospital to provide 6-12 months of residential recovery services to 16 adults who have both mental health and substance use disorders. Oasis is not a typical group home environment – our model is to support all paths to wellness and recovery including yoga, meditation, smart recovery, therapy animals, 12-step programs, and more. The Recovery and Medication Specialist assists individuals with their recovery process as they live with substance addiction and mental health challenges by creating a healing and supportive environment t. They are responsible for all medication management and documentation on site including tracking, storing and securing medications, managing medication counts and coordinating refills. In addition, they r eport and document medication errors, refusals, and incidents to supervisors and relevant authorities and p rovide training and resources to staff on medication management and Naloxone (Narcan) administration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, required.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with adults with mental health challenges and/or substance use disorder, required.
  • Reliability, willingness to learn, and a compassion for those who are struggling.

Responsibilities

  • Orient new residents to medication policies.
  • Coordinate the safe return or transfer of medications upon a resident's discharge.
  • Ensure storage and disposal of medications comply with BSAS, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist in completing assessments, treatment plans and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Help with creating daily and weekly schedules with individuals and encourage individuals to participate in community activities.
