About The Position

Busy Obstetrics and Gynecology practice seeking enthusiastic, detail-oriented team member for our Referrals Department.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
• Familiarity with Medi-Cal, managed care and insurance verification processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and processing referrals received from healthcare providers
• Obtain necessary insurance authorization for diagnostic services (radiology, ultrasounds, mammograms, etc.), specialty consultations, and specialty medications
• Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely and appropriate care
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care for patients
• Will contribute to positive work atmosphere and team morale
