Leads system-wide initiatives. Directly supports SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Midtown (Oklahoma City) as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in police administration, law enforcement or related field, or equivalent years of experience and education
  • Seven years' experience, with five years in direct people management/leadership
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and implements security policies and procedures that can be shared system-wide.
  • Ensures compliance and maintain appropriate documentation for the region.
  • Provides awareness of security policies, procedures, and programs throughout the department and the region.
  • Leads collaboration with local, state, and/or federal law enforcement agencies, and maintains liaison status with all appropriate agencies.
  • Develops and maintains a best practice training program for security officers.
  • With other regional leaders, ensure appropriate training for clinical staff.
  • Actively leads the Workplace Violence Program within the region.
  • Leads a robust risk assessment program to drive an appropriate staffing model and supports investments in physical security.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate physical security.
  • Participate in design and construction reviews to ensure crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) principles and department standards are incorporated.
  • Leads programs to assess and maintain appropriate physical security throughout the region.
  • Develops and manages operational and capital plans to support the appropriate security program for the region.
  • Ensures staffing levels and training is appropriate for each ministry/area within the region.
  • Ensures security teams within the region understand and leverage continuous improvement methods.
  • Actively rounds within the region to understand security needs first-hand, mentor team members.
  • Leads direct reports consisting of managers throughout the region and regional security support staff.
  • Monitors turnover and length of service of personnel; develops plans as necessary to ensure retention.
  • Counsels and applies appropriate promotional/disciplinary actions.
  • Functions as a facilitator, coach, trainer and mentor to support development of personnel and ensure employee satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and engagement skills in working within a large healthcare system.
  • Effectively drives change and positive improvements within the region, and throughout the system.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
