About The Position

Oversee the entire hospice admissions process, ensuring timely and efficient intake of new patients. Manage and provide leadership, support, and feedback to all direct reports. Establish strong communication with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, physicians, and other referral sources to drive patient referrals. Provide leadership, training, and support to the admissions teams, which would include CERs, Admission RNs, Clinical liaisons, and Customer Service Liaisons. Ensure that all admissions team members provide exceptional service and maintain compliance with hospice policies and regulations. Work closely with team members to provide support for patients, families, and caregivers to explain hospice services, eligibility, and the admissions process. Ongoing training and support regarding consents, goals of care conversations and hospice 101’s. Ensure all admission documentation is completed accurately, timely and in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and state regulations. Work closely with clinical directors and IDG teams to ensure smooth transition from admission to hospice care. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources. Provide excellent customer service in the community. Timely submission of all documentation Performance of other duties as required Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Three plus years management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting, hospice preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in hospice or healthcare operations and sales management
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct management personnel
  • Knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred
  • Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Experience with EMR/Customer Relationship software is a plus
  • Computer experience required with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must have reliable transportation and provide ongoing valid and current auto liability insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred
  • Experience with EMR/Customer Relationship software is a plus
