About The Position

As the Regional RN & QE Architect , you aren't just a clinician; you are the blueprint for safety, compliance, and clinical excellence. This dual-focus role combines hands-on nursing oversight with high-level systems design to ensure our persons supported receive the highest standard of care while the agency maintains ironclad regulatory health standards. Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), these functions are considered essential to the role and must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Experience: 3+ years of nursing experience, preferably in IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) or Community Health.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain/maintain "Trainer" status for CPR, First Aid, and Med-Aide programs.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel between regional sites frequently; ability to physically demonstrate CPR and lift/transfer individuals using adaptive equipment. Required to lift or move patients weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Communication: Must be able to effectively communicate complex medical information to non-medical staff, families, and state auditors.
  • Cognitive: High-level analytical skills to perform clinical audits and design quality improvement systems.
  • Visual/Auditory: Ability to observe physical symptoms and listen to heart/lung sounds during assessments.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialization: Strong background in Behavioral Health Nursing or Psychiatric care highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Oversight & Training Medication Administration: Design and execute the regional medication administration program; train and certify non-licensed staff in accordance with state regulations.
  • Adaptive Equipment: Provide expert oversight and staff training for specialized medical equipment (e.g., G-tubes, hoyer lifts, oxygen concentrators).
  • Emergency Preparedness: Serve as a certified CPR/First Aid Instructor, maintaining staff certification tracking and hands-on skills assessments.
  • Professional Development: Develop and facilitate medical "In-Service" training and continuing education modules to elevate the team's clinical competency.
  • Quality Enhancement & Compliance QE Protocols: Architect and refine quality enhancement protocols to identify systemic risks and improve health outcomes.
  • Field Audits: Conduct comprehensive site reviews and clinical field audits to ensure MAR (Medication Administration Record) accuracy and environment of care safety.
  • Clinical Assessments: Perform monthly (or as required) health assessments for persons supported, documenting changes in condition and coordinating with primary care physicians.
  • Behavioral Health Integration: Utilize behavioral health nursing expertise to bridge the gap between psychiatric needs and physical health protocols.
  • Person-Specific Support Acute Care Coordination: Provide direct medical support and triage for complex cases or during acute medical episodes.
  • Plan Development: Author and review Nursing Care Plans and Risk Plans to ensure they are person-centered and clinically sound.
