About The Position

Sentara RMH is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cath Holding Prep and Recovery in the EP Lab. This is a Full Time, Day shift in Harrisonburg, VA! Sign On Bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates! The Cath Holding RN is responsible for prepping and recovering Cath and EP patients and assisting in procedures. ACLS required, strong cardiac background preferred. Hours of the department will be 7a to 730P Monday - Friday. Three 12 hour shifts. Smaller bedside procedures are completed bedside within this area (TEE Procedures for example) The echocardiography lab is considered high volume with close to 9,500 procedures performed annually. The lab works closely with our invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery services. The Sentara RMH Heart and Vascular team is comprised of cardiologists, electrophysiologist, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons, and interventional cardiologists who’ve received their education and training at some of the finest medical schools in the nation. Responsible for performing competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by clinical area(s). Exhibits sound knowledge and understanding of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Critical care experience in hospital required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • Preferred: 1-2 years Procedural, Emergency Department, PACU or ICU experience.
  • Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments intra-procedural patient care/monitoring and moderate sedation preferred
