About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) to provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients, including pre-operative and post-operative support. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program – Required
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License – Required
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience in a large acute care hospital
  • Recent experience within the last 12 months preferred
  • Comprehensive patient assessment
  • Medication administration
  • Wound care and infection prevention
  • IV therapy and infusion management
  • Post-operative patient care
  • Patient education and discharge planning
  • Telemetry monitoring

Nice To Haves

  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred/Required for certain facilities
  • Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care for pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Administer and document prescribed medications safely and accurately
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and infection control procedures
  • Insert urinary catheters, initiate IV therapy, and monitor IV medications
  • Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
  • Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment as needed
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care coordination and discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
  • Follow established nursing protocols, safety guidelines, and healthcare regulations
