The Technician Team Supervisor trains, supervises and assists technicians to plan, coordinate and perform a variety of duties concerned with animal health and client education and to promote VCA Tiara Rado Animal Hospital. This position also encompasses all the duties of a veterinary technician. The Technician Supervisor is under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager. Requirements
- Licensed/Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT)
- High school diploma/GED (minimum).
- 3-5 years of clinical veterinary technician experience (minimum 2 years in fast-paced practice).
- Proficiency in: Anesthesia monitoring & induction, Radiology (including safety protocols), Dentistry assistance, Venipuncture, catheter placement, lab work, Surgical assistance & sterile technique, Medical math, medication administration
- Strong understanding of veterinary workflow, patient restraint, and safety.
- Ability to train, schedule, and oversee technicians & assistants.
- Conduct performance evaluations and payroll/timecard approval.
- Ability to write or enforce SOPs and maintain hospital standards.
- Strong conflict-resolution and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and maintain smooth daily operations.
- Professional, positive, and accountable demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking ability.
- Ability to coach without micromanaging.
- Comfortable holding staff accountable and giving feedback.
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs safely.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with stressed/fearful animals.
- Monday-Friday Availability
- 4 10hr days
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Veterinary Technology (preferred).
- Prior leadership experience preferred (lead tech, shift lead, or informal leadership is often accepted).
