Requirements

  • Proactive and self-organized
  • 1 year of experience as a janitor, cleaner, or housekeeping attendant preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning protocols and chemicals
  • Ability to manage through a substantial workload
  • Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor regulated waste burner machinery continuously during assigned shifts.
  • Handle and transport regulated waste materials in accordance with company and legal standards.
  • Follow autoclave procedures for proper waste sterilization and disposal.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation before and after each shift.
  • Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance on burner equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (if applicable).
  • Report any issues with equipment or safety protocols to the appropriate team.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste disposal.
  • Performs daily cleaning functions of all production and non-production areas as required by necessity.
  • Ensures all welfare areas (cafeteria, bathrooms, locker rooms, staircases, elevators, etc) to meet hygiene requirements and supplies are sufficiently stocked.
  • Sorts, counts, and stacks cleaning chemicals and janitorial supplies within the chemical cage and moves it to the respective areas needed for cleaning, maintaining cleaning tools.
  • Ensures drains are covered and void of accumulated debris and food.
  • Complies with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures and reports problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
  • Performs other activities as assigned by supervisor and management.
