About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position of Research Coordinator in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic of NY State Psychiatric Institute. Candidate will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring NIH-funded clinical trials in the area of social anxiety disorder and depression, under direction of Dr. Schneier, Director of the Anxiety Disorders Clinic. This position is ideal for someone interested in neural and psychological mechanisms underlying behavior in anxiety disorders and who is interested in applying for graduate or medical school. The anticipated start date is mid-APRIL 2026, and a one-year commitment is required. Please include a cover letter in your application.

Requirements

  • BA or BS, preferably in biology, psychology, or related field.

  • The ideal candidates will have outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, be team-oriented and self-directed.
  • Ideal candidates have (6) months of research experience and will be interested in mechanisms underlying behavior and in working with clinical populations.
  • Candidates who work well in fast-paced environments and are interested in creative approaches to incorporating technology into research and treatment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling as well as data collection and management.
  • Conduct computerized behavioral assessment tasks, eye tracking, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy.
  • Coordinate IRB correspondence.
  • Assist with MRI scans, grant applications, manuscript preparation.
  • Assist with supervision of volunteers.
  • The position is expected to be a hybrid of remote and in-person work, with availability to be on site up to 5 days/week when needed.
