About The Position

This position supports research operations within the School of Nursing (SON) by providing biostatistical and data management expertise, including REDCap database development, across multiple research projects under the guidance of the SON REDCap administrator. The role assists faculty, staff, and students with the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure research databases, ensures data quality and integrity, and contributes to statistical programming and analysis for manuscripts and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Science or a related quantitative field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, conducting statistical analyses using software such as R, Stata, SAS
  • Experience working with research or clinical datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse research teams

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Data Science or a related quantitative field
  • Experience with REDCap project design or administration
  • Experience supporting academic or clinical research teams
  • Experience preparing reports for grants, manuscripts, or regulatory purposes

Responsibilities

  • Provide statistical programming and analytic support, including data preparation, descriptive statistics, and statistical modeling, for manuscripts, presentations, and research deliverables using SAS, R, or Stata.
  • Contribute to the development and review of research documents (e.g., data collection and security protocols, case report forms, statistical analysis plans, DSMB reports, other statistical reports, etc).
  • Build and maintain secure data collection systems in REDCap and Qualtrics, including forms, surveys, validation rules, user rights, and data structures that support statistical analysis and reporting.
  • Serve as a REDCap technical support contact within the SON, assisting users with system setup, permissions, troubleshooting, and best practices in coordination with the REDCap administrator, and collaborating with the REDCap administrator and IT to escalate system issues and test system updates.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
