Part-time Research Support Assistant- Roots and Tuber Crops Lab-- Duque
About The Position
The Roots and Tuber Crops Lab (RTC-Lab) led by Luis Duque (PI) of the Department of Plant Science seeks to hire Penn State student(s) to work part-time position(s).. Specifically, we are looking for a hard-working individual(s) that will maintain, experiment, and data collect relevant experimental information both in the greenhouse and field of potato development and production under heat stress scenarios. This position is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture - Specialty Crop Block Grant funded project "Heatproofing and resilience for potatoes in Pennsylvania". Hours per week: 20 Student and non-student applicants will be accepted. Schedules will vary based on duties and student/non-student status.
Requirements
- Must be a hard-working individual
- Must be able to maintain potato plants
- Must be able to experiment with potato plants
- Must be able to collect data relevant to potato development and production under heat stress scenarios in both greenhouse and field settings
- Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
- This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
