About The Position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the department of Medicine at the New Jersey Medical School. Under direction, is responsible for the management of a medium-sized laboratory area. Designs and conducts highly specialized, technical research. May supervise work of technicians and be assisted by lower-level professionals. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation. Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development. Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current. As assigned, performs various research and technical procedures. Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, technicians and laboratory assistants as required. Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments. May be required to compile data and present results.
