About The Position

Attaching a resume in Workday is required to be considered: The major responsibilities and expectations of the Residence Life Summer Staff are listed below. It is important to note that other responsibilities may be assigned when appropriate. I. Standard of Work- The Residence Life Department has the highest standards in terms of quality of work and the efficiency with which it is done. Assigned tasks are to be completed in a professional and timely manner to the satisfaction of the Summer Staff Supervisors, Residence Hall Managers, Director of Housing, or other members of the Residence Life Professional Staff. II. Job Responsibilities- The responsibilities of the Summer Staff entail a variety of different work. They are including but not limited to: Cleaning residence hall rooms that were occupied and prepare them for reoccupation Preparing residence hall rooms for occupation by guests by cleaning rooms, making beds, laying out toiletries and towels, etc. Checking rooms for faulty equipment or furniture and making necessary repairs Perform other maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors Painting residence hall rooms or other public areas in the residence halls Gardening or other outdoor projects to preserve the aesthetics of the campus environment Check-in and check-out guests as and when necessary, with proper customer service etiquette Serve as a representative and ambassador of the University and the Residence Life Department Any other tasks assigned by the Summer Staff Supervisors or Residence Life Professional Staff III. Time Commitments & Training Summer Staff will begin the week following graduation, running through hall opening in late August/Early September. There will be some minimal training towards the end of the spring semester, with the majority of training taking place the first week of work. Summer Staff must be able to work up to 40.00 hours a majority of the weeks throughout summer, with some weeks only allowing 25 hours. IV. Compensation Rate of pay is $12.00 per hour One double room on campus provided during the summer. (All summer staff not living on campus the following fall semester will be required to relocate to a temporary location/out of the halls during the first week of August for the remainder of the summer) $300 in Jacket Points for summer V.
