About The Position

Young Adult Transition Program | Housing Stipend Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person – San Diego, CA Total Compensation: approximately $64,000–$66,000 annually College Living Experience This role requires living in the same apartment community as CLE students while maintaining your own private apartment. Help Neurodiverse Young Adults Build Independence and Confidence Are you looking for a job where your work truly matters, every day is different, and you get to be part of a fun and supportive community? College Living Experience (CLE) is a comprehensive transitional support program for neurodiverse young adults, including students with autism, ADHD, and learning differences. Our students attend local colleges while developing the life skills needed to live independently and pursue meaningful adult lives. Through mentorship, coaching, and real-world learning experiences, CLE staff help students strengthen academic, social, career, and independent living skills. We are seeking a full-time Resident Advisor/ ILS Coordinator to join our San Diego team and support students as they transition to independent living while attending college. The Resident Advisor/ ILS Coordinator leads the independent living skills program for the San Diego center, providing student coaching while coaching ILS instructors and coordinating life skills services. They also provide individualized coaching in areas such as daily living routines, organization, budgeting, and community engagement while helping maintain a safe and structured residential environment. Our students are a wonderfully diverse group of people — video game aficionados, artists, creative writers, craft enthusiasts, pizza and taco connoisseurs, karaoke fans, and students discovering new interests for the first time. A big part of the role is helping students connect with those interests and build a community around them. This role is ideal for someone early in their career or for someone looking to build experience in education, psychology, counseling, disability services, or student life. We are also open to flexible scheduling for graduate students who are looking to gain hands-on experience while pursuing advanced studies. Why People Love Working at CLE Working at CLE means being part of a collaborative team dedicated to helping students reach meaningful milestones in their lives. Staff support students across four key areas of development: Every day is different. You’ll spend time mentoring students, helping them build practical life skills, and exploring the community together. You get to see real growth. Watching students gain confidence and independence is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. You can be creative in how you engage students. Staff often turn their own hobbies and interests into activities that help students connect and grow. You get paid to do fun things in the community. From local events to game nights to karaoke, supporting students often means joining them in the activities they enjoy. You’re part of a supportive team. CLE teams value collaboration, flexibility, and recognizing the strengths each person brings to the work. Resident Advisors/ ILS Coordinator help students develop routines, strengthen life skills, and gain confidence navigating everyday situations. Much of the work takes place in real-world environments such as apartment communities, grocery stores, campus events, and local activities where students practice the skills needed for independent adulthood.
