About The Position

Datadog's Finance team collaborates with teams across the organization, providing commercial, operational, and analytical support to ensure that Datadog's business continues to grow as rapidly and efficiently as possible. This role will own key aspects of revenue accounting and reporting, including revenue close processes, accounting conclusions for complex and nonstandard arrangements, and the ongoing evolution of our revenue processes as the business scales. The Revenue Manager will be a critical partner to cross functional teams and play a hands-on role in supporting the company’s rapid growth while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance under US GAAP. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, a detail oriented mindset, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including 2+ years of Big Four public accounting experience
  • BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA is required
  • A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be adaptable with shifting priorities and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Flexible and analytical, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Revenue/ASC 606 experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with NetSuite and/or Salesforce a plus
  • SaaS experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own key areas of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, specifically ASC 606
  • Work closely with the broader finance team to support the finance operations, accounting and compliance function for our business
  • Be a key player in the review of complex deals, exercising judgment particularly with regard to 606 impact, as well as impact on the overall business
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders surrounding the revenue process including customer success and sales, maintaining effective communication channels
  • Maintain continuous alignment of our wider team efforts on projects which have high impact on finance and accounting processes, employee and customer experiences
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the year-end and quarterly financial statement audit requests, including internal audit and SOX requests
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and lead the implementation of process improvements to standardize and streamline accounting workflows
  • Investigate the root cause of customer billing issues with Customer Success team, owning the escalation as issues are flagged
  • Ad hoc analysis, projects and reports as they arise
