Purpose: The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Requirements

North Carolina or Compact RN license
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
BLS certification
ACLS certification

Responsibilities

Maintains patient confidentiality
Performs telephone triage as needed
Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician
Collaborates and coordinates with business office staff to schedule patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)
Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention
Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely
Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians
Uses computer system efficiently and accurately
Provides patient/staff education
Oversees LPN's and CMA/RMA
Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed:
Peripheral IV therapy
IV Therapeutic phlebotomy
Lab draws as ordered
Access of implanted ports
Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Ordering medications and supplies
Patient education
Monitoring Infusion therapy
Ongoing assessment for potential reactions/side effects
