About The Position

Elgen Manufacturing is seeking a Roll Form Operator. The Roll Form Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of roll forming machinery used in the production of light gauge metal components. The role involves setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-speed roll forming equipment to produce metal products that meet precise quality specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is on 2nd shift - 3:00 pm to 11:15 pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating roll form machines, particularly in the production of light gauge metal components.
  • Strong understanding of roll forming processes and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machines to maintain production quality.
  • Experience working in a high-speed, high-volume production environment.
  • Knowledge of basic machine maintenance and the ability to perform minor repairs.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on product quality and safety.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions to minimize production downtime.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. consistently

Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure that the work area is clean, organized, and free from hazards. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and always follow safety guidelines.
  • Machine Operation: Operate roll forming machinery to produce light gauge metal components, ensuring that all parts meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Setup & Calibration: Prepare machines for production by setting up, adjusting, and calibrating equipment based on job specifications. Ensure that the tooling is correctly installed and functions as intended.
  • Quality Control: Continuously monitor the output of the roll forming machines, inspecting products for defects, thickness, and dimensional accuracy. Perform in-process quality checks and take corrective actions as needed to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Production Monitoring: Monitor production rates to ensure that machines are running at optimal speeds, adjusting machine settings as necessary to maintain efficient output.
  • Maintenance: Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, and report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to maintenance personnel. Assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Complete necessary production documentation, including daily logs, quality inspection reports, and machine maintenance records.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the production team, quality control, and maintenance departments to meet production goals and resolve issues quickly. Assist in training and mentoring less experienced machine operators.
