About The Position

The Salesforce Administrator will provide technical leadership, project management, and task execution for administration, programming, maintenance, performance, implementation, security and support of various departmental and enterprise-wide multiple platforms, including the installation and testing of new software, operating systems, related utilities/services, and hardware products as well as the integration of new products and /or software release upgrades into the current environment. The Salesforce Administrator will conduct systems performance evaluations, monitoring, patch management and security evaluations. The Salesforce Administrator will analyze use needs in various computer environments (including but not limited to mainframe, Windows, and mid-range) and make recommendations for products and services that meet those needs. The Salesforce Administrator will ensure that all systems environments are maintained in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) supports Johns Hopkins’ focus on research, teaching and patient care, and its role as a national and global leader in higher education. We create and foster enduring relationships that result in advocacy and philanthropic support for Johns Hopkins University & Medicine; strengthening the institution through partnerships with donors, alumni, volunteer leaders, faculty, students, staff, and patients. The Salesforce Administrator for Advancement will be responsible for designing solutions on the Salesforce platform with a specific focus on UC Innovation’s ascend managed package that supports advancement. This will include an expert understanding of Salesforce.com standard applications functionality, Salesforce application development and integration, and the ability to marry these products with business requirements to ensure optimal scalable solutions and adoption for our end users. It is preferred that they also have an expert understanding of Advancement use cases and system configurations for engagement, annual giving, frontline fundraising, prospect management, prospect research, gift processing, and campaigns. The Salesforce Administrator for Advancement should have a deep understanding of Advancement data and be able to bridge functional design with technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • Deliver solutions for the Salesforce.com platform and the ascend managed package to meet business requirements, including implementing and supporting common third-party on-platform applications that support Advancement (e.g., address validation, prospect research, document generation, Salesforce Inbox, Salesforce Maps, etc.)
  • Develop and manage existing Salesforce declarative solutions (utilizing Flow and Lightning capabilities)
  • Contribute to every phase of the project lifecycle, including development, testing, and deployment (leveraging best practices in release management and devops)
  • Effectively work with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Technical Architects, Customers and Development Leads
