Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Shift: 1st 7:00am - 3:30pm Job Summary:  Responsible for safely and accurately cutting raw materials (strut) according to production specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience operating a band saw or similar cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and measurements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing safety standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of related machine operation experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with metal fabrication, machining, or material handling.
  • Forklift or material handling equipment certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate band saw equipment to cut materials to specified lengths, angles, and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret production schedules, blueprints, and measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers).
  • Set up and adjust saw settings, including blade type, feed rate, and cutting speed.
  • Inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies before and after cutting.
  • Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment such as blade changes, lubrication, cleaning, and alignment checks.
  • Monitor machine performance and immediately report unusual sounds, vibrations, or mechanical issues.
  • Ensure quality standards by measuring and verifying finished cuts using precision tools.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area, removing scrap, disposing of waste, and following 5S practices.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and machine guarding practices.
  • Record production data such as material usage, output, and downtime.
  • Assist in other fabrication or production tasks as needed.
