About The Position

We are seeking a School Community Health Technician (Operations & Policy Analyst 2) to join the School Wellness, Inclusion, Safety and Health unit in our Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (OEDI) at the Oregon Department of Education. This is a permanent position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). This position follows a hybrid work model. Onsite presence will be required when business or operational needs are best supported in person, such as collaboration, training, or work that requires access to onsite resources. Employees approved to work remotely must have a reliable and secure internet connection and maintain a professional work environment that supports productivity. While working remotely, employees are expected to maintain the same level of performance, responsiveness, communication, and availability as they would be in the office. The Oregon Department of Education is seeking a School Community Health Technician to develop, deliver, evaluate and continuously improve the tools, templates, professional development and other actions utilized by the School Wellness, Inclusion, Safety & Health (SWISH) unit to continuously improve school community health and mental health for students in Oregon’s schools and to implement the priorities in ODE’s strategic plan and accountability efforts. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
  • OR; Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification

Responsibilities

  • Analyze rules and policies and design operational tools for schools and districts.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings with colleagues to design, develop, evaluate and improve tools for schools and districts.
  • Deliver professional development, training and technical assistance to school district staff.
