About The Position

The Science Camp Office Manager plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations and efficiency of summer camp at Liberty Science Center.  Key responsibilities include: 1. Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main point of contact for camp families via phone and email; also communicate changes in campers’ schedule and other key information to our camp staff. 2. Administration: Manage registrations, camper files, etc 3. Logistics & Inventory: Tracking office supplies, camp equipment, and managing the camp store. 4. Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service . 5. Camper Support: Assist with the supervision and engagement of campers. Reporting to the Director of Out-of-School Time Programs, the Office Manager works closely with all LSC Science Camp staff and other organizational staff as needed. You have strong communication, organization, and customer service skills. Self-directed in executing primary job functions, you advocate for change and recognize opportunities for improvement. Furthermore, you feel comfortable with the “unknowns” and a certain amount of “controlled” chaos. In other words, you expect the unexpected that each day at camp can bring.

  • Proficiency in Google Applications and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline preferred
  • Proficiency in CampMinder is preferred
  • Experience with a project management platform, such as monday.com, is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for camp parents/guardians via phone and email
  • Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and clarify camp policies and procedures
  • Manage the online camp platform for applications and communications
  • Provide administrative and operational support for the implementation of LSC Science Camp
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of department documents, including guidelines, onboarding resources, schedules, email lists, and programming data
  • Communicate with the team about departmental and LSC updates
  • Lead by example to foster team growth and collaboration through innovation, diversity, and inclusion
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned
