About The Position

Under general supervision, must be able to perform reception and clerical support duties for the Rehabilitation Services Department.  Must possess the ability to maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including correct grammar usage.

Requirements

  • Ability to type 70 wpm
  • Experience in data entry, computer and word processing
  • Excellent spelling and problem-solving skills
  • telephone skills
  • Ability to work independently and with co-workers as well as communicate effectively with patients and professionals
  • ability to prioritize, organize and attend to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules outpatient appointments with scheduling tools and per department protocol.
  • Obtains and verifies insurance and billing information. Able to accurately process information for all insurance types as well as have the ability to obtain the necessary information for insurance types that are not familiar.
  • Maintains >95%accuracy
  • Provides phone reception utilizing excellent service excellence techniques.
  • Creates, manages and scans chart notes to assist clinicians with patient care and following the regulatory requirements to maintain records; for example, HIPAA
  • Registers patient accounts and audits/monitors information for accuracy and to ensure proper billing.
  • Provides front desk reception duties, involving leadership when a situation has the potential to escalate or to receive recognition for staff.
  • Performs all job functions in a timely, efficient and effective manner as part of a team
  • Supports a collaborative and cooperative environment to facilitate mutual respect and effective interpersonal relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
