About The Position

Security Cooperation and Interoperability Professional The Opportunity: Researches and analyzes data to inform foreign policy programs and initiatives. Applies specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance, and reviews or guides activities of junior employees.

Requirements

2+ years of experience interacting with civilian or military representatives of security or defense organizations of foreign nations
Experience with regional or security cooperation staff at a strategic-level headquarters, including the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), Joint Staff, Combatant Command, or a supporting service component
Experience working with allied, coalition, or partner nations, including security cooperation efforts and initiatives
Knowledge of defense-focused functional areas, including strategy, policy, and planning at the national or regional level, special operations, military aviation, maritime domain awareness, or cybersecurity
Knowledge of security cooperation authorities, policies, processes, procedures, or resource tools and databases
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree

Experience as a member of a U.S. Country Team abroad working on security cooperation matters
Experience working in the Indo-Pacific region
Experience with assessment, monitoring, and evaluation policies, approaches, and processes as applied to security cooperation programs and activities
Experience working in the DoW, Joint Staff, and OSW
Experience with U.S.C. Title 10 funding authorities, implementation, and execution
Knowledge of communications and cybersecurity interoperability efforts with foreign allies and partner nation
