About The Position

The Security Director manages a staff of security guards and surveillance personnel, who are responsible for patrolling and inspecting all NVOP organizational properties against theft, fire, vandalism, and terrorism. The Director of Security is responsible for developing and implementing security measures to protect the organization's assets, employees, and customers, as well as ensuring the safety of personnel and visitors while on or about the organization’s premises.

Requirements

• Requires 5-10 years of related experience in Security and /or a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline.
• Possess a broad knowledge of law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures.
• Experience will be considered in lieu of a Batchelor’s degree
• Must be able to obtain at minimum a level-2 security license on behalf of the NVOP
• Must have access to reliable transportation
• Must have a current Texas driver’s license at all times
• Must have applicable automobile liability insurance at all times
• Must pass drug testing and background check
• All personnel of the organization must be bondable

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of security personnel in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.
• Ensure that security staff is adequately equipped and trained.
• Develop training plans for security personnel and maintain security training records.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a physical security (security risk management) plan for all facilities.
• Manage and report to management on security incidents and threats.
• Oversee and report on security checks/surveillance/monitoring.
• Authorize access to facilities and ensure that access is controlled.
• Maintain and review security records; periodically report on trends, anomalies, and concerns.
• Establish operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events.
