As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist shoppers and tenants with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will represent Allied Universal with integrity, teamwork, and a caring, people-first approach while staying agile, reliable, and innovative on every shift.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail mall location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Monitor access points, service corridors, and tenant areas as assigned, observing for unusual activity and/or policy violations and communicating concerns to site management.
- Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and coordinate as needed with mall staff and local emergency services for security-related matters.
