As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to issues with calm professionalism. You will carry and use authorized equipment in alignment with post orders, while providing strong customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • A concealed carry weapons permit is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and post orders, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct armed, routine, and random patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification, credentials, and/or authorizations as required, while maintaining control of keys, badges, and other access-control items when assigned.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site representatives and/or local public agencies when needed.
  • Complete detailed reports on daily activity, patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate information promptly to supervisors and site contacts.
