As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintaining a highly visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will perform routine rounds, observe and report activity, support staff and visitors with clear communication, and respond to situations with professionalism. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will deliver through teamwork and act with integrity every shift.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Have a DCJS License for Virginia.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR Certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter, checking for unusual conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting de-escalation efforts and coordinating with clinical staff and/or local law enforcement as directed.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, monitoring visitor flow, and guiding individuals to appropriate departments in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document patrol findings and incidents, and communicate security-related information to supervision and site stakeholders per protocol.
