As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond with professionalism, communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors, and deliver customer service aligned with Allied Universal values of being agile, reliable, and innovative while acting with integrity and teamwork. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card/license.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients in a healthcare location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation of disruptive behavior and coordinating with clinical staff and/or local law enforcement as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
  • Control access by screening visitors, monitoring entrances, and verifying credentials in accordance with site policies, while maintaining a professional, service-oriented presence.
  • Complete timely security-related reports and documentation, including incident reports, patrol logs, and shift handoff information, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership.
