About The Position

The Dayton Lieutenant provides support to a staff of about 20 Protective Security Officers (PSOs) in the Dayton and surrounding areas. He/She will report to a Captain, the Contract Manager (CM), and Assistant Contract Manager (ACM). The Lieutenant performs a wide variety of complex and confidential related tasks to ensure efficient government security operations are being conducted in accordance to the contract mandates; this includes providing supervisory support of the Meritus Solutions Group guard force with special emphasis focused on ensuring 100% post coverage and compliance with the contract statement of work (SOW), established MERITUS’ and FPS’ policies and procedures (to include FPS Smartbook).

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Top Secret (TS) clearance- company will process
  • Must have a valid/current OPOTA (if your OPOTA is expired or you do not possess a current OPOTA from the state of Ohio, do not apply)
  • Meet and maintain all personal certifications, training, qualifications, OPOTA licensing and contractual requirements to work on the FPS contract
  • Must have a clean driving record which will not impact the company’s ability to obtain vehicle insurance or cause the company’s vehicle insurance to increase
  • Computer and Software Programs- ability to use a computer, Microsoft Office. applications, databases and web-based applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Google Calendar, ADP). All applicants will have undergo a computer skills test.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example; you are the supervisor a guard force, and therefore you are the consummate professional at all times.
  • Oversee and supervise armed PSOs; provide guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes
  • Supervise PSOs; Mentor, train, coach and counsel to ensure certifications and duty performance meet contract requirements
  • Ensure all PSOs meet contract requirements in areas of operational control (Certification cards are on person and current when on duty as PSO, uniform and appearance, customer service, access control and screening operations are conducted thoroughly and efficiently IAW contract training requirements, etc.).
  • Ensure to properly utilize all available PSOs for proper staffing sufficient to meet contract requirements and to minimize/eliminate any open post(s) and overtime
  • Complete reporting, conduct training, and conduct audits in accordance with FPS requirements
  • Submit all required company and government reports directed by current policies and CM/ACM directives
  • Ensure all PSOs required government reports are filled out accurately
  • Conduct all required FPS inspections as directed as by the CM/ACM
  • Ensure PSOs have all required company issued uniforms and equipment; ensure PSOs uniforms and equipment are clean, serviceable and present a professional appearance
  • Ensure all schedules are 100% completed and updated in accordance with company policies
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
