About The Position

As a Security Guard - Welcome Desk in Torrance, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a front desk post within a manufacturing and industrial location, where you will greet employees and visitors, support access control, issue badges, and manage sign-in and incident documentation using a computer or tablet. You will help maintain a welcoming, security-related presence through clear communication and customer service while partnering with the site team. Bring an agile, reliable mindset, act with integrity, and contribute through teamwork.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Control access to the facility by greeting visitors, verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials and directing guests, vendors and drivers according to site requirements.
  • Monitor entry points and front lobby activity using available systems and logbooks, and report unusual activity to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Maintain accurate records such as visitor logs, package and delivery logs, phone and radio communications, and incident reports in accordance with site policy.
