About The Position

The Security Manager, D Shift is responsible for leading, developing, and managing all aspects of physical security operations across the Liberty Dogs Campus. The Security Manager reports to the Director of Safey and Security and is an exempt position. This role ensures the safety of staff, Veterans, volunteers, visitors, and service dogs by overseeing a team of security officers, implementing security protocols, and coordinating emergency response strategies. As a Security Manager, you will serve as a client-facing leader and a frontline representative of our organization. This role requires a hospitality-focused approach, delivering calm, courteous, and service-driven interactions while setting the standard for your team. The ideal candidate brings a blend of leadership experience, operational oversight, and a strong commitment to the organization's mission of supporting Veterans through service dogs. This Security Manager will be responsible for the D Shift and will work the D Shift hours (6 pm – 6 am, Thursday - Saturday and every other Wednesday).

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years in security, law enforcement, or military service, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • CPR, First Aid.
  • Strong understanding of physical security principles, emergency protocols, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Experience managing surveillance and access control systems (Verkada).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with security software/reporting tools (Smartsheet, SharePoint).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • High school diploma required, associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Successful completion of background check and post-offer drug screening.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and respond to emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise security officers to ensure 24/7 campus coverage.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations for security personnel.
  • Lead team briefings and ensure clear communication of security expectations and updates.
  • Has authority to hire, discipline, and recommend termination of security personnel, with recommendations given particular weight.
  • Security Operations Management
  • Develop and implement campus-wide security procedures and patrol strategies.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of surveillance systems, access control equipment, radios, and emergency systems.
  • Monitor and analyze incident reports; track trends and implement preventative measures.
  • Risk Assessment & Emergency Response
  • Conduct routine security audits and risk assessments across the property.
  • Lead incident response and coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal leadership as required.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness planning, drills, and after-action reviews.
  • Access Control & Asset Protection
  • Establish and enforce procedures for authorized entry of personnel, vehicles, and visitors.
  • Oversee key management (Key Watcher), alarm systems, and perimeter security measures.
  • Protect company assets, facilities, and information from theft, damage, or unauthorized access.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of daily logs, incident reports, and security documentation.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and adhere to organizational confidentiality protocols.
  • Collaboration & Representation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all campus security matters.
  • Collaborate with facilities, HR, and leadership teams to support organizational needs.
  • Represent Liberty Dogs’ values and mission with professionalism and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
