Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Monroe, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a utilities location where you will manage access control, verify credentials, document visitor and vehicle activity, and help maintain orderly entry and exit. You will remain visible, communicate clearly with staff and guests, and support security-related incident reporting and response. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements. Bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, people-first approach to every shift.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing and collecting visitor passes, and maintaining access logs per site requirements.
  • Operate access control systems, alarms, and monitoring tools, and report irregular activity or access issues according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for unusual conditions.
